How we handle your files

Here is exactly what happens, step by step.

When you check a file

  • Your file is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our repair service, which runs on Cloudflare's network.
  • It is read in memory, checked and, if possible, repaired. Your original file is never written to storage.
  • If a repair is possible, only the repaired copy is stored, privately, so you can download it after paying. A short free preview (for example, page 1 of a PDF) may be stored with it.
  • The repaired copy and preview are deleted automatically after 24 hours, whether or not you download them.

What we keep

For 24 hours we keep the file name, size, type and the list of problems found, so your report and download link work. After that, we keep only anonymous counts (for example "a PDF with 2 problems was checked") to improve our repair engines. We don't keep file names or contents.

Converters

Our converters run entirely in your browser. Files you convert are never uploaded to us at all.

We never ask you to run anything

Some scam websites tell visitors to paste a command into the Windows Run box, PowerShell, Terminal or the File Explorer address bar to "fix" or "verify" a file. Doing that installs malware. TaskBionics will never ask you to copy, paste or run anything. If a page claiming to be us does, close it and tell us.

Payments

Payments go through Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your card details. Stripe sends your receipt.
